Pub Night at Hamlin Corner March 2nd 2017
A fun and interesting evening with Members and Guests, young and old getting together. This was more of a social and relaxed event, but some good ideas were born. Networking can be done in so many ways and places. You never know when you meet new people what that meeting can lead to. SACC believes that a meeting face to face, company to company is very important and could be very productive.
You never know where it will take you.

Recruit an Engineer!
SACC Detroit’s first Event for 2017, February 1st took place at Oakland University Engineering Center. This was a co-operation between SACC Detroit and event sponsor Oakland County. It was a well-attended event. The event offered great insight in the current development at the university by its Dean of Engineering, Dr. Louay Chamra. It was a unique opportunity to tour the facilities, mingle, network and recruit selected OU Engineering students for current and future recruitment needs.
The traditional SACC Detroit Jul Luncheon was once again held at the Birmingham Country Club on December 8th. Despite the snowy weather, guests came from all over the Detroit-metropolitan area with corporate representation from Trelleborg, GM, IKEA, Windsor Essex Economic Development Commission, and Autoliv among others.
SWEA, The Jenny Lind Club, and Swedish Club members also participated. Andreas Waller, SACC Detroit Chairman, presided over the annual meeting with several program events planned for 2017. He then introduced speaker Justin Robinson from the Detroit Regional Chamber who gave an impressive accounting of all the business activity in the Detroit area.
Lennart Johansson, outgoing Consul General, recounted the many accomplishments of his term working for the Swedish government and introduced Tom Mark, newly appointed Honorary Consul General, who will take over his position.
